Wavefront Technology 
Wavefront Technology is the next generation of laser vision correction. Using a sophisticated pattern of light ray analysis, the Wavefront system tracks minute abnormalities of your eye in order to create a customized LASIK laser treatment plan. A straight beam of light, called a "wavefront" is passed through your eye. Any aberrations or abnormalities are quickly detected and used to create a "Wavefront map". The unique Wavefront map is used to calculate abnormalities of the cornea, and then the information is transferred to the computer. The Wavefront Analyzer is another feature used to measure the aberrations (abnormalities) of the eye through a system of light ray movement.
As the light rays are directed through the lens and to the retina, the Wavefront Analyzer is able to detect the amount of distortion. The VISX Star 4 laser uses this precise information to create your personalized LASIK treatment.
