With the introduction of Intralase technology, Northwestern Vision Correction Associates is able to provide vision results like never before! The Intralase laser uses state-of-the-art computer technology to create the flap during the first stage of the LASIK procedure. Traditionally performed with a surgical blade called a microkeratome, the flap creation is a vital step in the LASIK process.

With the addition of Intralase laser technology, LASIK results are more predictable and typically better. Intralase allows for greater accuracy and reduced risk of complication, including less risk of dry eye symptoms and fewer enhancements. Because Intralase makes the LASIK procedure more predictable, the use of Intralase technology may actually make it possible to treat a wider range of patients, including those who were originally ruled out as good LASIK surgery candidates due to thin corneas.

Intralase helps your surgeon minimize risks and optimize results - bringing better vision to our Chicago LASIK patients!

*The Intralase technology is optional during LASIK. About 10% of patients choose to have the surgeon use a handheld microkeratome to create the flap
